Railway park, Train link and The rugby!

It’s been there for a long time now rusting and used by no one, but now thanks to a couple of plucky would be designers this old railway has been given whole new purpose. Instead of carrying resources it now accommodates for any visitors to this beautiful city. In an interview with the BBC, the designer behind this creation, Robert Hammond, stated he wanted the design of the structure to be “as interesting, unique and as unusual as the structure itself.” I really like the coming together of a street walk and recreational park both working together to create a handy tool for exploring the city but also a great place to collect your thoughts and relax. It is a creation that has unlocked the beauty within something so mundane.

In news a bit closer to home, there have been plans to install a tube system connecting Gatwick and Heathrow airports. This project will mean any holiday vacationers will be able to switch between airports without causing traffic problems to regular working folk commuting to London.   It I will cost approximately 5 billion pounds, and could take up to 20 years to finish. As a 16 year old boy that doesn’t go on many holidays or visit London during peak times, this doesn’t exactly relate to me. I would say however that it is a handy utility for anyone that gets aggravated by holiday makers clogging up the road.

Apparantly there has been a rugby world cup going on at the moment, however sadly no longer for England. We went head to head this morning against France and unfortunately lost. 19-12 was the final score and ‘apparently’-I did not manage to catch it due to a well-earned lie in- we did not play to our full potential. I did, however manage to catch last week’s game against the Scottish and must say that I was-although we won-a slightly disappointed. Unfortunately for us, Wilkinson seems to have forgotten how to take a kick but luckily the flood dude is there to clean up the shit.
